Elements in Bearsden, Glasgow, has swiftly emerged as a symbol of Scottish fine dining under the direction of acclaimed Chef Gary Townsend. Chef Townsend's ambition was to craft a dining environment that mirrored the quality and creativity of his dishes, blending modern design with Scottish tradition.

Chef Townsend's vision for Elements was to design a space that balanced sophistication and warmth. The £40,000 refurbishment of the 36-cover restaurant introduced a palette of deep mid-tone blues, lighter teal offsets, and burnt orange hues, creating a calming atmosphere for guests. The decor is further enhanced by velvet seating, simple lighting, and small posies of dried flowers, reflecting the restaurant's diverse menus - lunch, à la carte, and a seven-course tasting menu - all inspired by the four elements.

The interior design demanded a flooring solution that balanced durability with aesthetic appeal, capable of withstanding the rigours of a bustling restaurant while enhancing the ambiance. To complement this design, Atkinson & Kirby’s Noma Smoked Oak Flooring was chosen. Its subtle variations and distinctive smoked finish added depth and character to the restaurant’s interior, perfectly aligning with the modern yet rustic aesthetic.

Murray Timber was entrusted with the installation, ensuring precision and quality. Working closely with the architectural firm Davidson Baxter Partnership Ltd., the team meticulously planned and executed the flooring installation, achieving a flawless finish that integrated seamlessly with the bespoke furniture and design elements.
