One of Leeds’ most significant heritage buildings, Marshall’s Mill, has recently been refurbished in to the city’s most eye-catching office spaces. 

Developed by Group Ginger, the project maintains the industrial architecture and history of the building, whilst providing a contemporary interior design scheme throughout. Amongst the space within the Grade II listed buildings updated is now 70,000 sq ft. of office accommodation.

The full extent of the refurbishments includes a new entrance vestibule, foyer reception, updates to the external and internal landscape, as well as refurbished office suites and studios that range from 1,000 sq. ft to 10,000 sq. ft. From places to eat, host meetings and welcome visitors, the vast space offers everything businesses need within a shared office environment.

Previously shortlisted for three awards at The Leeds City Architecture Awards, the project prides itself on its fresh take on building a communal landscape amongst such a vast infrastructure.

Atkinson & Kirby’s Chiswick Oak flooring was selected to be fitted throughout the building’s office space. The pre-finished engineered white oak floor has an attractive variability in tone, which creates a contemporary feel amongst the exposed brick and cement wall, as well as the reclaimed wood beams. The flooring also creates a light, spacious look which adds to the natural sunlight provided by the building’s large, industrial windows and brightly painted walls.

The minimalistic open floor plan creates a functional form that finds character within its varying rustic materials and raw textures.
