Leading hardwood flooring manufacturers, Atkinson & Kirby, are supporting London Design Festival, a celebration of world-leading design and creativity in the capital this September.
For the first time, the UK-based flooring experts will be showcasing over 25 different products at the 100% Design expo at the Olympia, from 19 to 22 September 2018.
In addition, Atkinson & Kirby will be sponsoring the floor at the designjunction exhibition at Doon Street in the pop-up restaurant, ‘STILL BY FORM’, using Zerzura Oak chevron.
Established in 1903, the family-run business is a leader in flooring innovation, identifying trends and creating contemporary designs with cutting-edge colour and character, using the best engineered planks.
Taking their lead from interior design trends the exhibition will focus on four main themes: including Homeland, Winter Dessert, Organic Future and Modern Revival.
Homeland celebrates history in a contemporary lifestyle. The colours are mid to dark wood tones suited to materials including concrete and timber, fusing industrial and natural styles.
Winter Desert appeals to the ‘urban nomad’ and connects with ancient ways of living with earthen natural tones and deep textures, coloured parquet, sand and grey.
Organic Future fuses nature and technology, reflecting the idea that ecology and futurism can be mutually supportive, that wellbeing and modern life can go hand in hand. The palate is light oak, ash and maple with strong dark wood contrasts, smooth mattes and chalked greys.
Modern Revival is inspired from the early 20th century with confident and contemporary designs. Classic herringbone and chevron patterns with mid to dark tones give a vintage feel.
Josh Burbidge, Flooring Director, says “We are really excited to be involved in London Design Festival and are always looking at ways of adding interest to our portfolio of flooring.
“It’s the first time we have worked with analysts to understand upcoming trends in the market and this has really helped to shape our range.
“We have a wealth of knowledge and expertise at our finger tips, having supplied floors for residential as well as hospitality and retail industries.
“We realise the importance in finding the right floor that fits with your style and look forward to continuing our work with design leaders, innovators and architects ensuring we are at the forefront of modern, design-led flooring.”
