The new City of Glasgow College campus has recently been presented with three prestigious awards from a number of leading architectural bodies across the UK.
The ‘state of the art’ project was bestowed with titles including, the 2017 RIAS and RIBA awards for ‘Best Current Scottish Architecture’ and also was presented with the Architects’ Journal AJ100 Building of the Year and AJ100 Client of the Year award.
Atkinson & Kirby was thrilled to be chosen to supply its Caledonian range of oak flooring to the atrium of the new college campus. The ‘super college’ team were looking for a range of flooring that would look visually beautiful in their stunning open plan atrium area, one that would fit with the interior design elements chosen for the project and most importantly a style that could withstand a high level of footfall.
The Caledonian range is the perfect option to suit an ultra-modern space, but it was also in keeping with the traditional interiors selected by the college, so the mix helped to create a stylish look that would have no doubt helped the decision made by the architects’ design boards when selecting their 2017 winners.
